/talksy: turn on inline translation for yourself

Purpose: Choose the language your messages should also be posted in, in this server. From then on, each message you send in an enabled channel is posted again in that language, under your name and avatar.

Features: Per-server settings, stealth mode, quick off switch

Syntax

/talksy language:<language> stealth:<true|false> off:<true>

Parameters

• language (optional) The language your messages are translated into
• stealth (optional) Delete your original message after it's translated
• off (optional) Turn off auto-translation

/translate: translate any text

Purpose: Translate any text on demand. Only you see the reply.

Limit: Up to 2,000 characters per translation

Syntax

/translate text:<your text> to:<language> from:<language>

Parameters

• text (required) The text to translate
• to (optional) Target language; defaults to your preferred language
• from (optional) Source language; detected automatically if you leave it out

Examples

Translate Message: right-click any message

Right-click a message (long-press on mobile) → Apps → Translate Message. The translation goes into your preferred language and only you see it. Install Talksy to your own account and this also works in servers that don't have the bot, and in DMs.

/server: admin configuration

Purpose: Server-wide translation settings

Permission: Requires the Manage Server permission

Subcommands

Prefer buttons? Click ⚡ Set up on the welcome message Talksy posts when it joins; it does the same as the first commands.

Flag reactions: translate with an emoji

How it works: React to any message with a country flag and Talksy translates it into that country's language

Response: Talksy replies to the message with the translation

No command and no account needed: anyone can do it, and the flag is the language choice.

/register (optional): save your profile

Purpose: Create your Talksy profile and save a preferred language. /translate and Translate Message use it when you don't pick a language.

Optional: Nothing requires it. /talksy, /translate and flag reactions all work without registering.

• Stealth mode keeps channels clean: your original message is deleted once it's translated
